As an actress, I always feel like I am living a double life. I have my "real" job, with "real" pay, and a "real" future. My "back up" plan. And then I have my other life, running from one audition to the next, calling this agent, submitting for that casting call- but the lives never intertwine.
At least I thought so.
Through social media, an actor must constantly promote themselves. You are the service you provide. I used to refrain from social media, afraid of judgment and ridicule from family/ friends/ coworkers. After years and years of debating (it's still going on) I finally broke. It has been (so far) nothing but success.
I can't stress enough how important it is to engage your followers and let them know you are working, submitting, self taping, and traveling. Include them, "its human nature to want to share things."
