We've all heard of that saying "A picture tells 1000 words"...well this quote didn't become any more clearer until I became a photographer. Through a camera lens, you can sense what someone is feeling in that exact moment. It can be the anxiety of having their picture taken, the frustration caused by the New York City traffic on their way to their photo shoot, or it can even be the excitement of your potential headshots your photographer showed you during your session LOL. It's interesting when most people know they are standing in front of a photographer, they subconsciously start to perform for the camera. They try to give us what they thing we want. Actually most photographer's aren't looking for the person who take the best photos, they are seeking the best moment! When you aren't trying is when you usually take the most interesting photo. I tell those who take my acting class all the time "Less is More"! The less you do, the more you are giving. It's the person who's thinking to themselves or laughing at a corny joke without knowing the camera is on them is usually when we get the best shots. So remember next time you have a photo shoot, make sure you bring along with your make-up and clothing options...bring your TRUE SELF!
