Interview with Audition & Screen-Acting Coach Dave Bobb Start getting more callbacks by becoming more confident in auditions.
I truly enjoyed this interview! Dave Bobb is a professional actor who coaches other actors on audition technique and helps them prepare to walk in the room and "wow" the casting directors. I had the opportunity to ask him all kinds of in-depth questions about the casting process and his recommendations on what actors do to have a better chance of getting the callback. I know you'll enjoy this!
Fears are in your head. Every actor is just one audition away from a fantastic opportunity, and we need to be OK with being vulnerable when auditioning because it will enable us to perform better, so don't let your fears and worries control you!
The audition is part of your job. Don't just look at performing in shows as your job. The audition, marketing, creation of marketing materials, and networking are also all parts of your job as an actor. Booking a role is just another part of that, and you should not treat auditions differently just because they are unpaid.
Expanding your play range will give you more opportunities. If your acting ability and vocal range is limited, casting directors can tell. It's your job as an actor to have a wide toolset available so you can give the director whatever it is that they need.
