When you go for your headshot session, think of all the different looks you might want to have. Think of all the characters you are going to want to play, and then think of what you will have to do to bring those characters out.
One headshot cannot cover all looks, so you should have many to cover all different roles. You should only submit the headshot for the role you are trying to audition for.
For instance: if you are trying to get a role as a gangster, wear those clothes to your headshot session and then make sure you get a shot of you looking like a gangster. And then bring other clothes and make sure you get shots of yourself playing the other roles.
Consider that you typically have only a few hours for a headshot session. If you are able to come in and bang out four looks, that's awesome because you have effectively quadrupled the roles you can send your headshot to.
