Build Big Bridges and Never Burn Them

Building big bridges means making connections with high and important people. Never be afraid to contact important people, especially when you have an ice breaker to use.

Having an ice breaker is very important though, so think of some now. Get good at breaking the ice with people because there is a difference between an appropriate contact to an important person and an inappropriate contact. Inappropriate would just be harassing them and emailing them out of the blue. You have to start small and slowly start talking to them. A great way to do this is by following the blogs of those who you admire. You can easily find their website and blog by Googling them.

Comment on their blog and let them know your thoughts. After a few comments, you can email or message them with a question you may have. And slowly talk a bit more and build up a relationship. Eventually you might be able to meet with them in person!

Having expert mentors and contacts in high places can make a huge difference in the success of your career.
