How can you show the casting directors that you deserve the role?
Unfortunately, the world we live in usually gives more opportunities to people who already have a lot of things. The reason for this is because people who have things appear successful, and it leads others to believe they are reliable, trustworthy, and deserving of more things. Therefore, people who appear very confident in what they do will be more likely to get hired for the job.
Actors, you must stay confident and make sure it shows. If you appear confident, people will think you will do a better job, and they will give you a chance.
Your headshot is the first step in deciding whether to cast you. Then your resume. Then your audition and your personality. If you can make your confidence show in all of these steps, you will have a much better chance in the acting world.
A good friend of mine and great actor, Ashley Johnson VIII told me this saying she has: "Confidence is key, even when rejection is part of the business. Its a 99 percent 'no' business but all you need is one 'yes'."
Something that's so important to remember is that you are going to fail millions of times, but that one time that you don't fail is all you need. And no one can keep you going but yourself.
